
Korkut Öztürkmen
Korkut Öztürkmen served as a Board Member and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee at Aksa Energy from 2021 to 2024. During this time, he managed a 2,700+ MW generation portfolio and oversaw the development of 2,000+ MW of new energy projects. He also spearheaded the 2030 Aksa Strategy Project, which restructured the company’s target operating model.
Between 2019 and 2021, Öztürkmen served as the Energy Group President and a Board Member at IC İçtaş Energy Group. In this role, he managed key operations, including the Trakya Distribution and Retail Company (7 TWh), the Yeniköy Kemerköy Lignite Power Plant (1,050 MW), and a 400 MW renewable energy portfolio developed in partnership with the EBRD.
From 2007 to 2009, Öztürkmen was the Country Manager of OMV Türkiye, where he led the company’s entry into the Turkish energy market. He played a key role in strategic projects such as the Nabucco Natural Gas Pipeline and renewable energy initiatives. Later, from 2009 to 2019, he served as a Board Member and General Manager of OMV Türkiye’s Power Business Unit, where he oversaw the development of the €600 million Samsun Natural Gas Power Plant (890 MW) and implemented OMV’s global electricity trading strategy.
Öztürkmen began his career at Koç Holding in the Strategic Planning and Energy Group (1996–2007), where he played pivotal roles in strategic investments and privatization projects across the electricity, natural gas, and oil sectors.
A graduate of Robert College, Öztürkmen holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University. He completed his Executive MBA with high honors at Koç University in 2002 and later finished the ‘Power2Lead’ Senior Leadership Program at Ashridge Business School in the UK in 2013.
Öztürkmen, who previously served as Vice Chairman of the Turkish Electricity Producers Association (EÜD), continues to actively contribute to the sustainable growth of the Turkish energy sector through his involvement in key industry organizations.
