Arif Künar graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He holds a “Building Energy Manager Certificate” and an “Energy Performance Certificate” and has participated in numerous domestic and international industrial and building energy efficiency studies and implementation projects, as well as green building projects.

He provided energy, environmental, and operational consultancy services for the ESER Green Building, Türkiye’s first LEED-NC Platinum Certified Building. He currently works as a consultant on “pilot ESCO-EPC applications in the public and private sectors” and “LEED, EDGE, Passive Building, and TSE Safe-Green Building Certificate” projects. He is also involved in ongoing “smart campus–sustainable city” projects and “city hospital” projects, providing consultancy on cogeneration and energy simulation, automation, lighting, and lighting automation.

He is the founder and General Manager of VEN ESCO Building Energy Management Consultancy Industry and Trade Inc.

At the same time, he serves as an “Energy Consultant” at METU-MATPUM and takes part in METU projects. He is a founding member of EYODER and a member of ENVER, ÇEDBİK, TTMD, and EMO.
